Obituary of Amy Weinstein
Amy Rose Stein Weinstein, 86, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at her home. Born in Manhattan, she resided in the Bronx and Louisville, KY before moving to Plainfield 70 years ago. Mrs. Weinstein received a BS degree in Marketing from NYU in 1941. She worked in the Armed Force School in Fort Knox, KY as head of personnel. From 1941 1988, she and her husband Kopel owned and operated the Gossard Corset Shop in Plainfield. Due to the care she showed to women as a mastectomy fitter, she received numerous awards from the American Cancer Society. On her days off, Amy enjoyed horse racing. She loved dogs, especially her beloved corgis. In addition to her husband of 65 years, Kopel H. Weinstein, she is survived by a nephew Buddy Stein, two great nephews, Andrew and Stephen and two great nieces, Tracey and Jill. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street with Rabbi Moshe Samber officiating followed by interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 600 First Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 would be greatly appreciated.
