Obituary of Lilly W. Blake

Watchung: Lilly W. Abner Blake, age 96, died on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center, in Watchung. Born in Marietta, GA to the late Charles E. Abner and Agnes McDonnell, Lilly lived in Riverside, NJ and the Villa Maria Nursing Home in North Plainfield before residing at McAuley Hall. Lilly was a former communicant of St. Peters R.C. Church in Riverside. She graduated from Burlington County Hospital as a Practical Nurse. She enjoyed traveling, history, writing and reciting poetry. She is predeceased by her husband, Russell Blake in 1991; her brother George W. Abner in 1960, and her two sisters Mary McDade in 1977 and Evelyn Rose Coyle in 1992. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 7, 2006 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am followed immediately by a Mass of Resurrection at St. Catherine of Sienna Chapel located in McAuley Hall, Watchung NJ. Interment will be in the St. Peters Cemetery, Riverside NJ on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Arrangements are by Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung.
