Obituary of Frank Thomas Matullo, Sr.
Frank Thomas Matullo, Sr., age 76, died on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born in East Orange, NJ and had lived in Watchung since 1958. Mr. Matullo served in the Army and achieved the rank of Corporal. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Panzer College of Physical Education in Montclair. Prior to his retirement, he was the Athletic Director for Watchung Hills Regional High School in Watchung. Mr. Matullo was a member of the American Legion Post 1000, a member of the I.A.A.B.O. and was the Recreation Director for Watchung for 31 years. He was inducted into the NJ Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame and the Panzer College Hall of Fame. Surviving is his wife, Mary Sharkey Matullo; his sons, Jim P. Matullo of Watchung and Frank T. Matullo, Jr. and his wife Lori of Whitehouse Station; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Jesse and Justin Matullo; one sister, Sally Aroneo and her husband Marty of South Plainfield. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 9 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Marys Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
