Obituary of Pearl B. Levine
Pearl B. Levine, age 92 died on Friday March 31, 2006 at The Fountains at Cedar Parke in Atco NJ. Mrs. Levine was born in Brooklyn NY and had resided in Bound Brook where she had helped run the family business, B and O Feed. Then in 1948 she moved to Plainfield and lived there until moving to Westfield in 2002 She was a very active member of Temple Beth El in Plainfield, where she learned Hebrew, sang in the choir and had made her bat-mitzvah in her seventies. Mrs. Levine later became a member of the Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains. After her husband passed away in 1969 she continued his accounting practice by preparing income taxes for his clients. She had attended Brooklyn College for two years. Mrs. Levine was very active in the republican party of Union county. During each election she would spend all day at the polls as an official. Mrs. Levine enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed dancing and up until recently was still giving lessons on the hustle at local senior centers. She is predeceased by her husband Max L. Levine in 1969; a daughter-in-law Sue Levine in 2005 and a brother Sidney Brody. She is survived by a son Dr. Mickey Levine of Naples FL; a daughter Sherry Price and her husband John of Turnersville NJ. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 4, 2006 at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ 07060. Interment to follow at Hebrew Cemetery in South Plainfield.
