Obituary of Melissa Anne Wendell

Melissa Anne Wendell, 49, died Monday, April 10, 2006 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield from coronary arrest. She was the daughter of Charles W. Wendell of Plainfield, NJ and Southampton, NY, a retired professor at Kean University. Brain injured from infancy, Ms. Wendell lived all her life at home; despite her mental disability she led an active life and brought out the best in the many people who cared for her or knew her. Ms. Wendell was born December 20, 1956 in Bad Cannstatt, Germany. Her mother, Frana Summa Wendell, predeceased her in 1982. Besides her father, survivors include numerous cousins. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Higgins Home for Funerals, Plainfield, NJ. After cremation, burial will be private in the family plot at Sacred Hearts Cemetery, Southampton, NY.
