Obituary of Morris W. Greenberg
Morris W. Greenberg, MD of Watchung, NJ, previously of Lauderhill, FL, and North Miami Beach, FL, died on Monday, May 15, 2006. Born June 9, 1907 in New York City, he was the son of Rubin Greenberg and Annie (Gogel) Greenberg. He was the beloved husband of Sarah (Freedman), father of Lisbeth Greenfeld of New York City and Jonathan Greenberg of Scotch Plains, NJ, father-in-law of Nancy (Nadel) Greenberg, grandfather of Barbara Greenberg and Mark Greenberg. Brother of the late Emil Greenberg, the late Lester Greenberg, and the late Abraham Herbert Greenberg. Dr Greenberg was a surgeon and family doctor in Brooklyn NY and Miami, Florida for almost 60 years. He was also an Assistant Medical Examiner for the City of New York. He helped develop Parkway Regional Medical Center in N. Miami, Florida and served as president of the medical staff there. He was a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons and of the American College of Surgeons. Dr Greenberg served in the Army of the United States Medical Corps in Europe during WWII, primarily with the 7th Field Hospital. After the war he remained active in the Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of colonel. Services will be held on Monday, May 22nd at 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, NJ. Interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Contributions may be made to Reserve Officers Association, One Constitution Ave, Washington DC 20077.
