Obituary of Shuford “Sonny” Hull

Mr. Shuford "Sonny" Hull, 79, died Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Born in Hickory, NC, he resided in Somerville for 15 years, having previously lived in Rahway and Plainfield. A WWII Army Veteran serving in Japan, he learned to speak Japanese while stationed there. Mr. Hull was employed as a maintenance man for Landmark, now known as Edgewood Properties in Somerville. Previously, he was employed for over 20 years as a cleaner and presser for Marshall's One Hour Martinizing in Rahway. His wife Sarah predeceased him in 2002. Surviving are his children, Robert and his wife Patricia of Columbia, MD, Shirley A. Jones and her husband Emerson of Plainfield, twins, Alfred and his wife Ginger of AZ and Allen Hull of WV; a brother, Andrew Hull of Hickory, NC; a sister, Adalie Shuford of Binghamton, NY, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews and 25 cousins. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 1:30 pm at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield.
