Obituary of Margaret Fischer

Margaret W. (Burklund) Fischer, age 86, died on Monday August 13, 2012, at the Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, she moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1947, Hillside, NJ in 1957, before settling in Warren, NJ in 1969. She moved to Hershey, PA in 2008. Margaret started as a legal secretary on Wall Street then later was a secretary for Lockheed in Watchung for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Stony Hill Church in Watchung. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, playing cards and in the 1960's was a member of the Business & Professional Women's Club in Hillside. Margaret loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George J. Fischer in 2007 and her brother Frank Burklund. Surviving is her son Carl Fischer and his wife Laurie; her daughter Jeanne Watters and her husband Rob; her sisters Faye Reese of University Place, WA and Ellen Richmond of Deming, NM and four grandchildren Scott, Julie, Nicole and Dana. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Immediately following commital prayers at the cemetery, the family would like to invite everyone to a luncheon at the Trap Rock Restaurant in Berkeley Heights.
