Obituary of Mable Leslie
Mrs. Mable l.(Brown) Leslie, age 83 died on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Mable Leslie grew up in Snead, Florida and at the age of 21 she moved to Newark and had lived in Plainfield for the last 35 years. Prior to retiring in 1978, Mable Leslie worked for the Central Glove Company in Newark for over 20 years. She has been one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1957 and for the past 35 years she has been a member of the South Plainfield Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Plainfield. Mable Leslie enjoyed reading her bible and was known for her truthfulness and honesty. Mabel Leslie is survived by her husband, Charles Leslie of Plainfield; her five children, Bettie Johnson, Charles Leslie, Jr., Joanne Cherry and Turhan Leslie, all of Plainfield and Virgil Leslie of Piscataway; her brother, Simuel Brown of Plainfield; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 10:30 a.m. in the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 7-9 only.
