Obituary of Alice E. Abbruzzese

Alice E. (Bacon) Abbruzzese, 84, died Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Cateract, WI, she resided in North Plainfield most of her life. Mrs. Abbruzzese was a former member of the North Plainfield Senior Citizens, a volunteer at Raritan Valley Hospital and was a Democratic Committeewoman. Her husband, Orlando L. Abbruzzese, former Mayor of North Plainfield and Somerset County Democratic Chairman, predeceased her. Surviving are two sons, Steven V. and his wife Judith of Bedminster and David and his wife Camille of Clemmons, NC, a daughter, Donna and her husband Peter Borowski of Toms River, a brother, Forest Bacon of Sparta, WI, 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 10 am at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 would be appreciated.
