Obituary of Robert Jonathan Grant
Robert Jonathan Grant, affectionately known as, Bob was born May 15, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of Margaret Grant and the late Robert Grant. He was the first grandson of the late Emory and Maggie Harris. Robert was a graduate of the Philadelphia Public School system and was the recipient of the Board of education Scholarship to Pennsylvania State University. He later graduated from Temple University as a Mathematics Major. Robert began his career as a Student Teacher with the Philadelphia Public School System and later accepted a position as a Marketing Research Analyst with the A.C. Nielsen Company. Subsequently, he accepted a position with the Revlon Company where he served for more than 25 years. Throughout his career with Revlon, Bob was frequently promoted and later became a Revlon Corporate Executive, one of the Vice President of Marketing. When Robert was diagnosed with kidney failure and need a kidney transplant, he sought help from his Revlon family. David Gugino, was one of the first to respond and when tested, was a perfect match. We can thank God for David Gugino, because his gift gave us more time to spend with Bob. Bob enjoyed a good meal, sports and great jazz. Bob is survived by Dorothy Williams, the love of his life, affectionately known as DW, his mother, Margaret Grant; his sister, Pamela Chappelle; his niece, Michelle Grant; his Aunt, Grace Parsons and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
