Obituary of Marie K. Hayes

Marie K. Hayes Great Great Grandmother 91 Mrs. Marie K. Hayes, age 91, died on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Mrs. Hayes was a lifelong residence of Plainfield. She was a Day Care Worker for the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services, Foster Grandparent at the Neighborhood House in Plainfield. Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Plainfield for over 60 years. She was a member of their Hospitality Committee, past member of their Choir, back-up pianist, a Missionary member and member of their Willing Workers Club. She enjoyed playing the piano, doing arts and crafts, and singing, but her most favorite was baking. Mrs. Hayes is predeceased by her husband, Issac Hayes; two sisters Roberta Johnson and Pearl Studivant; a son-in-law William Brighton, Sr. and a granddaughter, Debra Marie Studivant. She is survived by her daughter Ruby Brighton of Plainfield; her sister, Laura Sharpe of Plainfield. Nine grandchildren, Patricia Adams, Gina Frederick and her husband Russell, William, Jr., Brian, Toni, and Craig Brighton all of Plainfield NJ; Terri Brighton of Piscataway NJ; Theodore Brighton of Pomona CA; and David Brighton of Atlanta GA . Seventeen great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Hosts of nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 6th at Shiloh Baptist Church, 517 West 4th Street, Plainfield followed by a funeral service at 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 7th at 12:00 pm in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
