Obituary of Louis Bucossi

Louis Bucossi, age 91, died on Monday, July 10, 2006 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield. Born in North Plainfield, he was a lifelong resident. After his retirement, Mr. Bucossi worked for Baltusrol Golf Course for 12 years in the Pro Shop. Mr. Bucossi worked for 25 years for Art Color Printing in Dunellen and for 10 years at Burroughs Corp. in Piscataway and Warren. A World War II Army Veteran. Louis was a Sgt. 1st Class who fought during the battle of Okinawa as a member of the 98th AAA Gun Battalion. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and bike riding. He is predeceased by his wife Jean DiGiovanni Bucossi in 1991 and his brother Albert Bucossi. Mr. Bucossi is survived by his three sons Victor of New Providence; Paul of Bridgewater and Peter of Berkeley Heights; surviving are his sisters Mena Monelli of North Plainfield and Helen Taranta of Whiting. Also surviving are his ten grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 14th at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
