Obituary of Bernard Toffoli

Warren: Bernard G. Toffoli, age 81, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2006, at The Wilf Home for the Aged in Somerset. Born in New York City, he lived in Italy, Flushing Queens, Bayside, and Center Valley, PA, before moving to Warren 34 years ago. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in English and History from New York University and later received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1949.

Mr. Toffoli served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as the Vice President and General Counsel for Deutsche Bank in New York City for 17 years before retiring in 1989. Mr. Toffoli was an avid golfer and opera enthusiast. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church and a member of both the Italian American Cultural Institute in NY and the New York Bar Association.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Pelkowski Toffoli; his son Mark Toffoli and wife Carol, along with their children, Matthew, Christine, and Vincent; his son Greg Toffoli and wife Sara; his daughter Val Creamer and husband Mike; and his son Neal Toffoli and wife Cherie, along with their children, Brandon, Aubrey, and Austin.

Visitation will occur on Thursday, July 20th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 21st, at 9:30 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10:15 am Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren. Interment will be at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery in Flushing, NY.
