Obituary of Lauren Jean Johnson
Plainfield: We are celebrating the death of Lauren Jean Johnson. The second child of seven children of the late Vincent and Elesa Walker of Kingston, Jamaica. Lauren Johnson was born on January 12, 1947, was a graduate of Excelsior High School with honors. She joined the Jamaicas Civil Services as a statistician at the Department of Statistics in Kingston, Jamaica where she worked for seven years. Lauren migrated to the United States in 1969 and worked for the former National Westminster Bank in Bridgewater, New Jersey. She later became Manager of the Venice Avenue Community Residence where she retired due to illness. She was formerly married to Roydel Johnson, this union produced four children, Donna-Marie, Leopold (deceased), Claudine and Paul; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Theron, Tatania, Quatirra and Kazmirah and a great-grandchild, Gabriella. She was dearly loved by her sisters and brother and in-laws, namely Pauline James and husband Gevasta, Joan Walker, Donovan Walker, June Bryan and husband, Norman, Beverly Cammock and husband Etan and Sandra Francis and husband Delroy. As well as several nephews and nieces who mourn her loss. She was respected by several friends from Florida, Jamaica and Plainfield, NJ. The family of Mrs. Lauren Johnson does appreciate you all in sharing our grief and hope the memories of her pleasant and beautiful smile will linger in our hearts. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street Plainfield. Visitation will be on Friday from 7-9 only. Cremation is private.
