Larry Finkel posted a condolence

It is with the greatest sadness that I read of the passing of my only piano teacher, Mr. Gunther. My brother Alan and I, both were privileged to have him as our teacher back in Plainflield. My love for the piano never ended and I recently bought a Yamaha Digital Piano in China where I had been living with my wife and our five month old daughter. (Though we just arrived back in the US last week) Among the piano books I bought first in China, the Clementi Sonatinas, Bach 2-Part Inventions, Mozart Sonatas and Moonlight and Pathetique Sonatas. Though I haven't played very often in the 34 years since my last lesson with Mr. Gunther, the notes flowed easily for all the pieces he had taught me. On behalf of myself, my brother Alan, my parents, Annette and Irving Finkel, we send our deepest condolences on the loss of this remarkable teacher.

We are so sorry that we can't be with you at this time to suport you in your loss. Harry was such a bright light. Bob and I enjoyed reading his stories and knowing him and his wife. They were so very much in love. We especially remember his happiness at Scott and Jennifer's wedding. God so loved him, he wanted him at his side. He will be surely missed. Our prayers go out to your family and we will continue praying for your grandmother as well.
