Obituary of William Schlechter
Mr. William Schlechter, age 77, died on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Mr. Schlechter was born in Santiago, Chile to the late Carlos Schlechter and Luisa Stojan. He move to Wisconsin in 1956 and has resided in Bridgewater the last 44 years. Mr. Schlechter worked for Allis Chalners in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and for Frank Holtaway & Sons as an Electrical Engineer retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Martinsville. He also volunteered at the Shrine Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament in Raritan. His hobbies were playing a Spanish guitar, wood carving, cooper engraving, furniture building and many projects involving stained glass. Mr. Schlechter is survived by his wife, Carmen Munita Schlechter; his two brothers, Carlos Schlechter of Chile, South America and Erwin Schlechter and his wife Maria Nieto of Venezuela, South America; sister-in-law, Ruth Munita of Chile; brother-in-law, Victor Vinegra; two nephews, Joseph Vinegra and his wife Susan; Victor Vinegra and his wife Lynn; and one niece, Michelle McNellis and her husband Thomas. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd at 9:30 a.m. from Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung following a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Martinsville. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
