Obituary of Franklin O´Neal Murphy

FRANKLIN ONEAL MURPHY longtime city resident PLAINFIELD Franklin ONeal Murphy, 54, died Thursday (August 31, 2006) at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born in Chester, S.C., Mr. Murphy lived in Plainfield most of his life. He attended the Plainfield School system and led his basketball team as point guard to a number of state championships. Surviving are his father, Horace L. Murphy; life companion Shirley L. Williams, and their daughters, Qamara Nisa Wray and Shakira Linzey; two brothers, Herman L. Murphy of Metuchen and Orndary Murphy of Piscataway; a sister, Jenet Hammond of Piscataway and a host of loving grandchildren, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and other relatives. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Higgins Home For Funerals in Plainfield. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
