Obituary of Marion H. Murphy
Mrs. Marion H. (Curry) Murphy, age 89, died on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the home of her daughter Carol and son-in-law Pat Luciano, along with her loving children. Mrs. Murphy was born in Newark, raised in Maplewood and had lived in Chatham and Springfield prior to moving to her daughters home in Warren three years ago. Prior to her retirement in 1986, Mrs. Murphy worked for the Jonathan Dayton Regional High School in Springfield as a Secretary in the Guidance Department. She loved crocheting afghans for her family and friends, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Murphy is predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Murphy, her daughter, Marion Bunny Stone; and her sister Bernice Levens. She is survived by her son, William J. Murphy of Livingston; her daughters, Kathleen Weekley of Flemington; Rita SanGiacomo of West Caldwell; Susan Pepe of Warren; Carol Luciano of Warren and Patricia Turcott of Springfield. Two brothers, Jack and James Curry; two sisters, Elizabeth Foley and Eileen Toole. Fourteen grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 5th at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins Funeral Home, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount R.C Church, Warren. Interment will be in St. Teresas Cemetery, Summit. Visitation will be held on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
