Obituary of Queenie Moore

Queenie M. Evely Moore, 69, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Plainfield. She was born in South Carolina and had lived in Newark before moving to Piscataway over 35 years ago. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Moore was a Health Care Provider for the State of New York with the Willowbrook State Institution in Staten Island for 35 years. She was a member of the North Stelton AME Church in Piscataway and was involved in Missionary programs. She loved cooking and baking. Mrs. Moore is predeceased by her husband, Billie Joe Moore in 1996, her father, Simon Evely and her brothers, Willie and James Evely. She is survived by her mother, Maggie Evely of Newark; her brothers, Simon and Thomas Evely, both of Irvington; her sisters, Maggie Harris of East Orange, Sarah Evely of Newark and Carol Evely of Durham, NC. Also surviving are a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24th from 5 to 6 pm followed by a 6 pm service at North Stelton AME Church, Ethel and Craig Street in Piscataway. Interment will be held on Monday, 9/ 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
