Obituary of Doris F. Nunn

Doris F. Nunn, 97 years old, formerly of Summit passed away at the Cedar Oaks Care Center in South Plainfield on Saturday, October 7, 2006. Dot was one of seven children born to Henry and Ellen Varner in Moncks Corner in Berkeley County, SC. She moved to New Jersey in 1927 and married John Nunn and had four daughters. She was employed as a salad chef by Llewellyn Farms and worked at the Picatinny Arsenal during WWII. Dot loved bowling, fishing and Atlantic City. She is predeceased by her daughters Vivian and Jean Ellen. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Brazil and Margaret Harrison; sisters Ellen Varner and Sadie Lewis; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who adored her. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. only.
