Obituary of William A. Martin, Jr.

William A. Martin, of Pomona Park, FL, died on October 15th in Palatka, FL. He was 79 years old. He was the son of William A. Martin of Roebling, NJ and Catherine McHugh of Bristol, PA. Mr. Martin was born in Roebling, NJ in 1927, and lived in Newark, where he was a member of the Newark Fire Department, before moving to Pennsylvania and then to Florida. He was a member of the Emerald Society Pipe and Drum Band in Newark, He is survived by a wife, Theresa Robinson; three daughters, Judy Szalkowski of Plainfield, NJ, Eileen Mullin Espinoza, of Summit, NJ and Amy Hiller of Beach Lake, PA; two sons, Patrick of South Orange, NJ and Matthew of St. Augustine, FL; and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded by a son, William, and wives Marie Devlin Martin and Rosemary Pedroso Martin. He is also survived by six stepchildren, including Sharon Linardi of Honesdale, PA. A memorial mass will be held at St. Bernards/St. Stanislaus Church, 368 Sumner Avenue, Plainfield, NJ at 9:45 am on Saturday, December 2nd with burial services to follow at St. Gertrudes Cemetery in Colonia.
