Obituary of Margaret T. Gallo

Margaret Ianniello Gallo, passed away on February 14, 2013 at the Bea Lea Assisted Living Complex in Toms River, New Jersey. Marge was born in 1920 in Plainfield, NJ, the daughter of Phillip and Angelina Ianniello. She was one of 10 children. Marge lived and worked in Plainfield in many occupations until her retirement in 1982 when she moved to Lavallette, NJ. Marge was an accomplished business woman working in various business entities, including Rapps Pharmacy, The Country Closet Boutique, The Pizza Plaza, FW Woolworths and managing the Plainfield movie theaters, just to name a few. She was awarded the honor of Plainfield's Woman of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. Marge was also extremely active in the Catholic churches in the Plainfield, South Plainfield and Lavallette areas. When there was an important task that needed to be accomplished, Marge was always the one to call. Marge was predeceased by her loving husband, John and is survived by a son, John P. Gallo and his wife, Karen and a daughter, Patricia Beck, and her husband, Robert and seven grandchildren, Kristin Russo and her husband, Steven, Kara DeFuria and her husband, Joseph, Kimber Gallo, Robert Beck and his wife, Danielle, Christopher Beck, Lyndsay Beck and Katie Beck as well as six great grandchildren, John DeFuria, Alexa DeFuria, Matthew DeFuria, Jerry Russo, Kaci Russo and Brandon Beck. Marge was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Cooking for her family and friends was her passion and she loved to dance and sing. Marge was always ready for a good poker game. She was full of life and was an absolute joy to be around. Marge was a dear friend to many and devoted herself completely to her family and her community. She was loved very much and will be missed by many. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 18th, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield, NJ followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 149 South Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ. Entombment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
