Obituary of Grace Wardlaw
Grace Wardlaw, age 68 died on Friday, October 20, 2006 at her home in Edison. She was born in Greenville, SC and grew up in Brooklyn and had lived in Edison for the past 2 years. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Wardlaw was a nurse. She also ran a home for disabled children, Not By Bread Alone in Edison. She was an active member of the Resurrection Temple of Roselle, NJ and was involved in the prison ministry. She loved being with family and friends and she loved to travel. Mrs. Wardlaw is predeceased by her daughter, Marleen Wardlaw, her brother, Edward Hazel and her granddaughter, Kursty Christian Robinson Surviving are her son, Mikel Wardlaw of NY; her daughter, Lisa Barns of Edison; her mother, Grace Hazel of Edison; her brother, Clyde Hazel of Queens, NY and a sister, Marian McIlwain of Englewood. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am.
