Obituary of Margaret A. Garzillo

Margaret Ann Garzillo, age 88, died on Friday, October 20, 2006 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She was born in New York and had lived in Plainfield before moving to Middlesex 40 years ago. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Garzillo was a dressmaker for Star Dress Company, Hyman Dress Company and Hodes Dress Company all located in Plainfield. She was a former communicant of St. Marys Church in Plainfield. Mrs. Garzillo loved to cook and sew and she enjoyed traveling with her daughter to Las Vegas. She is predeceased by her husband, Salvatore C. Garzillo in 1991. Surviving are her daughter, Corinne Ducey of Green Brook; her brother, William Soletto and his wife, Bertha of Dunellen; her sisters, Louise Gannacci and her husband Joseph of Middlesex, Sophie Sutton of Wilmington, NC and Virginia Mastriana and her husband Joseph of Berkeley Heights; her grandchildren, Scott Ducey and his wife Kathleen of Bridgewater and Joseph Ducey of Middlesex. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Jessica and Scott Ducey, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Resurrection at St. Marys Stony Hill Church in Watchung. Entombment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield. Visitation will be on Sunday from 7-9 and on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9.
