Obituary of Alfred J. Brenner, Jr.

Alfred J. Brenner, Jr., age 78, died Sunday October 22, 2006, at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown. Born in Newark, he resided in Hillside prior to moving to Warren in 1973. Mr. Brenner was a Truck Driver for Teamsters Local #478 for 30 years and a member of Teamsters Union Local #701 for 14 years. Alfred was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church in Warren. He enjoyed coin collecting in his spare time. Al was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving as a train engineer with the transportation division. He was predeceased by his wife Rosa J. DeSanti Brenner in 1997 and his infant son Paul in 1966. Surviving are his three sons, Alfred J., III and his wife Tracey of Jackson; Thomas and his wife Kim of Bernardsville and David and his wife Sonia of Green Brook; his brother, Paul Brenner of Union and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 9:45 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:15 Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Interment is at St. Gertrudes Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
