Anita Galvano Maiorana, age 91, died on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. She was born and raised in Newark and had lived in Mountainside for 49 years before moving to Green Brook 6 months ago. Anita was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside. She is predeceased by her husband Sam Maiorana in 1994. Surviving are her daughters, Lucille Lesser and her husband Michael, Rosalie Shearer and Carol Cilino and her husband Joseph; her son, John Maiorana and his wife, Angela; her brother Frank and sisters, Vita and Angela. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside. Entombment will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
