Obituary of Marie G. Dodson

Mrs. Marie G. (Green) Dodson, age 89, died on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Marie was born and raised in Stamford, CT and had lived in Westport, CT for 30 years before moving to the Norwood Terrace Health Center 11 years ago. She attended Hampton University in Hampton, VA obtaining her BA degree in Education. She was a member of Chums, Inc., the Bridgeport, CT Chapter and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Westport. Marie loved arts and crafts, traveling all over the world, modeling, cooking and giving all sorts of parties for friends and family. She worked for the Community Nursery School in Westport as their Director for over 20 years. Marie is predeceased by her husband, William L. Dodson in 1989. She is survived by her son, Stephen M. Dodson of Fort Lee, NJ and her daughter, Beth Green of Union, NJ; two grandchildren, Erik S. and Whitney R. Green; a nephew George Green and his family of Brooklyn, NY; also many friends and family from around the world. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, NJ. Cremation was private.
