Obituary of Frank R. Freehauf

Summit: Frank R. Freehauf, age 83, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born in Warren and had lived there until moving to Summit 15 years ago. Mr. Freehauf was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific. He later worked in Japan as a US Government employee for 8 years. He was a Real Estate Agent for over 45 years and specialized in the marketing of homes, land and commercial properties in Warren, Watchung, Basking Ridge and surrounding areas. He was a past President of the New Jersey Association of Realtors as well as 2003 Realtor of the Year, a member of the Hunterdon/Somerset Association of REALTORS, the Garden State MLS, the Warren Township HPBA, the Warren Lions Club, the Warren Historical Society and the American Legion Post 293. He also enjoyed writing, local history, chess and cooking. He is also a published author. He is survived by his wife, Keiko (Nikai) Freehauf; his sons, Ralph Freehauf of Athens, AL and Kurt Freehauf of Basking Ridge; his daughters, Heidi Taylor of Glenelg, MD, Lesley Ellerbusch of Warren and Sherry Waldron of Greenwich, NY and a brother, Philip Freehauf of Tunnel Hill, GA. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2006 at 12 noon at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Mt. Bethel Cemetery, Warren. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
