Obituary of Margaret Frances Drake

Margaret F. Drake, age 89, died on December 25, 2006 at Muhlenberg Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Virginia she moved to Plainfield in 1936. In 1962 she moved to North Plainfield where she resided for 44 years. Prior to retiring she worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Eva Sargent in North Plainfield for many years. She was active in the Road Runners Club as well as the Womens Club. She enjoyed gardening and especially liked making jams and jellies which she shared with her family and many friends. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Fred Drake. She is survived by a son Ronald and his wife Betsy of Far Hills, NJ. Two sisters, Dorothy Reid of California and Louise Berg of New Jersey and a brother Leonard Oliver of Virginia, four grandchildren; Ron, Jr. of Darien, CT, Amy Jacobs of Belvedere, CA, Meg Rauchway of Davis, CA and Katie Barrett of Santa Fe, NM and 6 great grandchildren; Matthew, Christopher and Karson Drake, Jack Jacobs and Andrew and Jane Rauchway. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Cross, North Plainfield, with a reception to follow at the church.
