Obituary of Anne Alexander

North Plainfield: Anne (Sletzinger) Alexander, age 87 died on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at her residence. She was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and moved to New Jersey, settling in North Plainfield in 1945. Mrs. Alexander received her Bachelors Degree in accounting from City College in 1940. She began a career on Wall Street and was one of the first woman to pioneer in this field. . Friendship and family were important to her. She was a member of Temple Beth-Israel of Scotch Plains in Plainfield. She married Dr. Abe Alexander in 1953. He predeceased her in 1972. Surviving are her son, Mark Alexander of Beverly Hills, CA; her sister, Miriam Shapiro of Bloomfield, MI and 2 grandchildren, Augusta and Theodora. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2007 11:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield with Rabbi Moshe Samber officiating. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.
