Obituary of Helen Obal Greco

Helen Obal Greco, 84, of Watchung, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at the home of her daughter. Helen was born the 7th of nine children to Ukranian immigrant parents in Taylor, PA, where she spent her childhood. She moved to Watchung in 1945 where she raised her family and lived out her life. Helen was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Watchung. She enjoyed baking, gardening, her family, senior activities and being a grandmother to many. She was the wife of deceased educator, Anthony J. Greco, former Supt. of Schools in Belleville. Surviving are her children, Maryann Orlando of Readington Twp., Gordon Greco of Las Vegas, NV and Susan Stankus of Arlington, VA; her son-in-law, Alexander Stankus of Arlington, VA; four grandchildren, Kendra-Beth Riddle of Three Bridges, Kory Ann Orlando of Readington Twp., Kristin and Griffin Stankus of Arlington, VA; two great grandchildren, Bailey and Bryce Riddle of Three Bridges; her oldest sister, Ann Price of Scranton, PA; her youngest sister, Sylvia Chuprun of Taylor, PA; sister-in-laws, Mary Obal of Bethlehem, PA and Rose Greco of Niagara Falls, NY and two brother-in-laws, Al and Frank Greco of Old Forge, PA. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 9:30 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10 am funeral Mass at St. Marys Stony Hill Church, Watchung and interment at St. Marys Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
