Obituary of Elizabeth M. Bondkirch

Cape May: Elizabeth M. (Nottling) Bondkirch, 83, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Burdett Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. Born in Nuremberg, Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1953, settling in Queens. She resided in the North Jersey area since the early 1970's, moving to Cape May in 2005. As administrator of the First Christian Assembly Church in Plainfield for over 20 years, Elizabeth oversaw the Church office, was involved with counseling, and sang in the choir. She devoted the last 30 years of her life to the Church. Her husband, Joseph A. Bondkirch and daughter, Inge Schaefer both predeceased her. Surviving are two daughters, Anita M. Battersby and her husband James of Tuckahoe and Ursula Workmeister and her husband Steven of Baltimore, MD; and a grandson, Ahren Schaefer and his wife Allison of Washington, DC. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2007 at 12:00 noon at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield, with Rev. Fran Huber officiating followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon. Memorial donations to The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714 would be appreciated.
