Obituary of Abraham Rogoff
Perth Amboy: Abraham "Al" Rogoff, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. He was 87. Born in Brooklyn, he resided in South Plainfield before moving to Perth Amboy 3 years ago. He was a lifeguard in Coney Island and joined the US Coast Guard as a signalman aboard the USS Storis. He was a sales manager for Bambergers in Plainfield and Brick Church Appliance in Rahway. He was a volunteer at Overlook Hospital, Summit and gave his time to Deborah Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Adele (Jacobson) Rogoff who died April 20, 2001. Surviving are his son, Alan Rogoff and wife Laurie of Warren; his daughter, Betsy Gursky and husband Neil of Perth Amboy, with whom he made his home, and his beloved grandchildren, Scott and Sara Gursky. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield, followed by interment at B'Nai Abraham Memorial Park in Union.
