Obituary of Florence Kopstein

Florence Siris Kopstein, age 90, died on Friday, February 16, 2007 at her home. She was born on July 14, 1916 in Trenton, NJ. Mrs. Kopstein was the daughter of George and Jennis Siris and the sister of Gilbert Siris. She is a graduate of Trenton High School, William McKinley Memorial Hospital, and The College of New Jersey where she received her B.A. degree in Education. She worked as an RN in NJ, PA and MD. Mrs. Kopstein supervised the Outpatient Department of William McKinley Hospital and was a supervisor for the NJ Department of Health. She married Alexander Kopstein in 1946 (who died in 1995). They lived in Levittown, PA for many years before moving to Bowie, MD. During her long career, Mrs. Kopstein worked as a public health nurse in NJ and PA, as a school nurse in the Pennsbury School District in PA, and as a health educator in Prince Georges County, MD. In 1968 the Kopsteins moved to Prince Georges County where Mrs. Kopstein was active in Temple Solel in Bowie, MD. She was active in AARP, AAUW, and NARFE. She is survived by a daughter, Sally of Edison, NJ with whom she lived for the last 5 years. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 18th at 11:45 a.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ. Arrangements are by Higgins Home for Funerals, Plainfield, NJ.
