Obituary of James H. Clarke

Plainfield: James Hugh Clarke, 62 died on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and had moved to Plainfield in 1971. Mr. Clarke received his Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University. For the past 13 years, Mr. Clarke was the Regional Sales Manager for Colorite in Ridgefield Park He was the past president of the Sales Associates of Chemical Industry and past president of the Oil and Chemical Association. Mr. Clarke was an avid railroad fan, being the Vice President and co-owner of Railpace Magazine and was the former president of the NJ Central Historical Railway Society. He was a communicant of St. Bartholomew RC Church in Scotch Plains and was a Eucharistic Minister and choir member. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Beth) Clarke; his son, James J. Clarke and his wife, Susan of Freehold; his daughters, Amy Krok and her husband John of Matawan and Betsy Clarke of Philadelphia, PA; his sisters, Eileen Gilligan and her husband Thomas of Atlanta, GA and Lucille Casey of Middletown, NJ. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kayla, James Patrick, Bridget, Lily and Andrew and 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24th at 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th St., Plainfield, NJ followed by an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Bartholomews RC Church in Scotch Plains. Cremation is private. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9.
