Obituary of Marian L. Fischer
Marian Louise Fischer (81) of North Plainfield died Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Born in Linden she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Jean Olszewski. Her husband Richard C. Fischer was a real estate broker who passed away in 1984. Her sister Dorothy Mamola of Orange California died in 2001. She graduated from the Jersey City Medical Center School of Nursing in 1947 and worked as a visiting nurse. In the 1970s she worked as a nurse for the Westfield School system and the Brisbane Child Center in Farmingdale. She was also a volunteer at Muhlenburg Hospital. She and her husband lived in Newark until 1961 when they moved with their 5 children to settle in North Plainfield. She was a communicant of St. Lukes parish, a member of the Altar Rosary Society and President of the North Plainfield Womans Club. For many years Marian enjoyed her summers in Normandy Beach. Surviving are her children: Richard of Pluckemin, Peter and his wife Nettie of Warren, Jane and her husband James Leary of Palm Beach Florida, Thomas and his wife Debbie McGowan of Whitehouse, and Fred of Bedminster. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren: Charles Fischer, Will Fischer, Kyle Fischer, Lauren Fischer, Matthew Fischer Michael Leary and Jacqueline Leary. Marian will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Gertrudes Cemetery in Colonia. Marian was a person of great strength, intelligence, beauty and love. She will be long remembered and cherished by her family.
