Obituary of Hasko W. Hofmeister
Hasko W. Hofmeister, long time resident of Stirling, NJ passed away peacefully in his home on March 16, 2007. Born in Bremen, Germany, he immigrated to the United States as a young man settling in San Francisco. During a long career in the shipping industry he lived in many countries but always considered San Francisco his home. Hasko was an executive with Flexi-Van Leasing for 28 years where he was Vice President of Intermodal Operations. A lifelong train enthusiast, Hasko was a collector of Marklin and an active member of Marklin Enthusiasts of America. He was a dedicated supporter and volunteer for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. Hasko is survived by his wife Judith, his sons Steven and Richard of California and his daughter Michele of New York City. He is also survived by his loyal sidekick, Bogart. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, 785 Springfield Ave, Summit, NJ 07901 would be deeply appreciated.
