Obituary of Helen Marie York

Helen Marie (Robke) York, 92, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Watchung Ridge Assisted Living in Watchung. Born in New York City, she resided in Newark, moving to Irvington when she married Edward York. She then resided in South Orange for 45 years and moved to Dallas, Texas where she was a member of the Senior Citizens Club. Mrs. York recently moved to Watchung. A homemaker, Helen loved gardening and sewing. Her husband Edward predeceased her in 1993, a son, Gary died in 1999 and her son-in-law Ronald Heide died in 2002. Surviving are a daughter, Terry Heide of Gillette, a brother, Fred Robke of Delaware, a sister, Edith Mascali of Harrison, four grandchildren, Adam and David Heide and Jessica and Toni York and one great grandson, Benjamin Heide. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 from 7:00 8:00 pm at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by an 8:00 pm Memorial Service. Cremation Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be deeply appreciated.
