Obituary of Rosemary A. Kovac
Rosemary A.( Pookie) Kovac nee Sedlak passed onto a new adventure on February 28, 2013 with her loving children by her side. She was born in Newark and resided in Union for 11 years. She had lived in Hawaii for 4 years before settling in Whiting for the past 11 years.
She married John Kovac of Hillside and had 3 children, Karen Kovac (Vandenberg) of Lakehurst, NJ, John Kovac of Warren and Diane Fanders of Hillsborough. She loved her grandchildren with all of her heart, Jennifer, Justin, J.T. and Meghan. She loved and was thankful for all the care and love provided by her sons-in-law, Bob and Roy and her daughter-in-law, Mary.
Rosemary worked in medical offices for many years, most recently with Dr. Walter Lewis in Toms River, NJ.
Rosemary was always on the go. From her early years of being a Girl Scout Leader to the youth group leader for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Union where the kids adored her like their own Mom. She was an independent spirit when on a feeling to go hit her - she went. She loved her trips to AC with her dear friends, RoseMarie Clemente, Barbara Treppiccione and Caroline Rubinetti.
She is predeceased by her husband, John, her mother, Rose, her aunt Mary and Uncle Charlie Ossner.
She leaves behind a large family who will hold fond memories, Ed and Marie Kovac, Charlie and Virginia Ossner with family of Wayne, Mike and Craig, Ron Kovac, Debra Siegrist, Cindy Keller, Kenneth Kovac, Joe Kovac, Kim Harmon, Amy LaBella and Eddy Kovac.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 3rd from 3 to 7 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung. Services and interment are private. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Medical Center, Van Dyke Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 99 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755-6423 or to Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O.
