Obituary of Edythe Mary Caffrey

Mrs. Edythe Mary Caffrey, age 89, died on Friday, April 20, 2007 at her home. She was born and raised in Irvington, NJ, had lived in Union, Chatham, Millington and Florida before residing in Kansas in 2006. While living in Chatham, Mrs. Caffrey worked for Overlook Hospital in their coffee shop for 21 years, retiring in 1981. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for her family. Mrs. Caffrey is predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Matthew Joseph Caffrey in 1974, and her son James Matthew in 2006 and her great-granddaughter, Kate Ashlyn Campbell in 2002. She is survived by her son, Peter Alan Caffrey and his wife Sonda of Kansas; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 8:15 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. James R.C. Church in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-9 p.m. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
