Obituary of Herbert M. Schwartz

Herbert M. Schwartz, 93, died on Monday, May 21 at his home in Pompano Beach, Fl. He was born and raised in Plainfield and spent most of his life there before moving to Florida. Mr. Schwartz received his Bachelors Degree from Temple University. Prior to his retirement, he was a former builder in Plainfield, Green Brook, South Plainfield and South Jersey. He was the Past President and member of the Plainfield Business Association, the NJ Board of Realtors, the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce, the Jewish Community Center and was a congregant of Temple Sholom. Mr. Schwartz was a longtime member of Twin Brooks Country Club in Watchung, NJ and Palm Aire Country Club in Pompano Beach, FL. Mr. Schwartz was predeceased by his first wife, Carolyn Lowe Schwartz in 1975 and two children, Armin Perlmutter and Penny Fernandez. He is survived by his wife, Helen Perlmutter Schwartz; his children, Joan and Ron Goldburg, Bob and Judy Schwartz, Tom and Mary Schwartz, Eric and Judy Perlmutter and Alfredo Fernandez; his grandchildren, Michael and Lisa Goldburg, Brian and Kristin Goldburg, Daniel Goldburg, Stephen Schwartz, Adam and Beth Schwartz, Carolyn Schwartz, Trevor Schwartz, Kevin Schwartz, Lisa and Ken Gold, Lori and John Conforti, Lauren Fernandez and Adrian Fernandez. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Samantha, Hannah, Rachael, Emily and Alison Goldburg, Samantha, Ryan and Lily Gold and Emma and Nicholas Conforti. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.
