Obituary of Larry Crawley, Sr.

Larry Crawlwy, Sr., 73 of Franklin Park passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Brother Bonaventure Extended Care Facility in Elizabeth, NJ. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 216 Liberty Street, Plainfield. Visitation is Friday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth St. Plainfield. Born in Plainfield, NJ, Mr. Crawley was a forklift operator and retired from Wakefern Food Corporation in Elizabeth, Nj after 30 years of service. A former Marine and professional boxer, Crawley participated for some 40 yeras in leagues throughout Union County including the NJ State Bowling tournament with his son, Larry Jr. A member of Love of Jesus Church in Orange, Crawley graduated from Bible School and enjoyed speaking and witnessing to others about Christ. Mr. Crawley is survived by his children, Larry Jr. (Beth) of Roselle, Lisa of Baltimore, MD, Lesley Cora (Joseph) of Elizabeth; 5 brothers, Clifford and Leslie of Franklin Park, Carlton of Lake Waccamaw, NC, Howard of Hope Mills, NC, Gerald of Williamsport, MD, Reginald of Hagerstown, MD; 4 sisters, Gloria White of Laurelton, NY, Peggy Pettiford, Brenda and Joanna of Franklin Park and 2 grandchildren, Lawrence and Morgan of Roselle.
