Obituary of James G. Denmead

James G. Denmead, age 85, died on Monday, March 4, 2013, at his home in Newton. Born in Passaic, he had resided in Warren for many years before moving kicking and screaming to Newton in 2009. James served in the Marine Corp. during World War II. Prior to retiring he worked for Fablock Mills in Berkeley Heights as a Computer Data and Construction Manager. He was a member of the Warren Twp. American Legion Post #293. In his spare time he enjoyed oil painting, loved to sing with Hounds for Harmony Barbershop Chorus in Plainfield and was a member of ROMEO Club "Real Old Men Eat Out". Predeceased by his wife Doris L. Denmead in 2002 and his brothers Donald, Bruce and Harry Denmead. Surviving is his daughter Linda M. Witzal and her husband Jim of Randolph; brothers Jack Denmead and Edward and his wife Maria Denmead; sisters-in-law MaryAnn Denmead and Lorraine Denmead. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 7th at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel, Warren. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
