Obituary of Benjamin W. Vasile

Benjamin W. Vasile, age 91, died on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY he had lived in Jackson Heights, NY from 1943-2001 and has resided in Bedminster since 2001. Before retiring Mr. Vasile had worked as a Union Upholsterer and was also a Hospital Maintenance Worker at Belleview Hospital in New York City. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Benjamin enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Vasile is survived by his loving wife Jean (Gelardi) Vasile who he married on October 8, 1939; his son Michael Vasile and his wife Theresa and his daughter Natalie (Vasile) Gumersell and her husband John; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 25th at 9:30 a.m. from Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Martinsville. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
