Obituary of Barrett R. Davies

Warren: Barrett R. Davies, age 80, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. Born in New York City and raised in Union, NJ, he had lived in Warren for the last 45 years. Mr. Davies was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Prior to moving his architectural practice to Warren, NJ, his office was located in Somerset, NJ. Mr. Davies was past president and member of the American Institute of Architects of NJ; treasurer, past president, and Life Member of the Warren Township Lions Club and recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award; treasurer and member of the Warren Township Honorary PBA and honorary member of the NJ State PBA; and member of the Warren Elks Club. An avid stamp collector, he enjoyed golfing and building model airplanes. He was a World War II enthusiast as well as a dedicated hockey and baseball fan. Mr. Davies is survived by his wife, Ruth Saldaa Davies; his daughters, LaWayne Napoles and her husband George of Michigan, and Valerie Reilly and her husband Kevin of Whitehouse Station; and his granddaughters, Courtney Napoles of NYC, and Ashley Napoles of Michigan. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 7th,,from 79 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.
