Obituary of Joseph Victor Cusumano

Watchung: Mr. Joseph Victor Cusumano, age 67, died on Sunday July 8, 2007 at his home. Joseph was born in Wilkes Barre, PA to the late Victor Cusumano and Irene Luby. He lived in Elizabeth and Westfield before residing in Watchung in 1982. He graduated from Caughlin High School in Wilkes Barre, PA and attended classes at Rutgers University in Newark. Joseph worked for Exxon Refineries in Linden as a Research Chemist retiring in 1999 after 40 years of service. He was a member of their Exxon Retiree Club. He enjoyed sports such as football and baseball and was an avid Nascar fan. He would attend drag races at Island Dragway and Englishtown. He also loved doing Sodoku puzzles. Joseph is survived by his son, Stephen Cusumano of California; his sister, Irene M. Beyer and her husband Robert of Watchung; two nieces, Mary Heunermund and Roseanne Corey; two nephews, Sean and Billy Beyer and four great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday July 11, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Mary Stony Hill R.C. Church, Watchung. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
