Obituary of Virginia Sherman

Elizabeth: Virginia C. Sherman, age 91, died on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Westfield Center in Westfield. She was born and raised in Elizabeth and had resided in Roselle and had returned to Elizabeth before moving to Watchung. Mrs. Sherman owned a knitting shop in Elizabeth for over 5 years and was a volunteer for the Red Cross, helping donors during the blood drives. She enjoyed all types of needlepoint, travel and was a fabulous cook. Her husband, Harold Sherman predeceased her in 1983 and her son, Brian Sherman in 1942. Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Ocken and her husband, Dr. Paul Ocken of Watchung; her 3 grandchildren, Michele, Matthew and Libbi and her 7 great-grandchildren, Ben, Jonah, Lila, Jack, William, Piper and Tate. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Beth David Cemetery in Kenilworth.
