Obituary of Alice D. Guild

Alice D. (Dugan) Guild, age 88, died on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Renaissance Gardens in Pompton Plains. Born in Morristown she was a lifelong resident of Morris Plains, moving to Pompton Plains three and a half years ago. Mrs. Guild began her career as a telephone information operator at AT&T in Morristown at the age of 18, retiring 45 years later. Alice thoroughly enjoyed her job. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was predeceased by her husband James P. Guild, Sr. in 1993; parents, Thomas and Alice (Dorn) Dugan and her brother Thomas Dugan. Surviving are her son, James P. Guild, Jr. and his wife Carole of Branchville; her brothers, Robert Dugan and his wife Catherine of Branchville and Edward Dugan of Morris Plains; her two granddaughters, Maggie Guild and her husband Rob Roy of Morris Plains and Katie Edward and her husband Mike of Grahamsville, NY. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069.
