Obituary of Kenneth Robert Davis, Sr.

Kenneth Robert Davis Sr, age 53, of Hillsborough, N.J. formerly of Plainfield passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was born October 24, 1953 in Plainfield, N.J. He is survived by his 5 brothers: Howard Jr. ( Geraldine), Gregory of Plainfield, George (Michele), of N. Plainfield, Ronald ( Bersha) of Lake Waccanna, North Carolina, and Ormond of Phoenix, Arizona. 2 sisters: Florence of Plainfield and Maureen ( Malcolm) of Edison, N.J. His 3 children: Kenneth Jr., of Plainfield, Aiesha, of Plainfield and Shakyra of Florida. 4 Grandchildren: Jamier A. Bailey, Sayyid A. Davis, Shakeer Rashad and Darian Rashad. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard F. Davis Sr. & Christine (Tucker) Davis and a sister Cheryl Brisbon. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends, and his long time companion Deborah Washington of Hillsborough,NJ and her son Raheem Rashad of Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1972. He played baseball and softball in various leagues throughout the city. He was known for his love of sports and was one of the original bowling members in the AF Memorial league at Jersey Lanes in Linden, N.J. He was employed at NCR of North Brunswick for 34 years where he maintained and repaired cash registers and ATM's at stores and banks in the central New Jersey area. A viewing will be held at Christian Fellowship Church, on Thursday, September 6th from 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Fellowship Church 255 Johnston Ave, Plainfield. Followed by the interment at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
